Easy and Scenic Day Trips from Ciudad Quesada Worth Driving To
If you’re staying in Ciudad Quesada, one of the best things you can do is get out and explore a bit. There’s loads to see on the Costa Blanca, and honestly, having a car just makes everything that much easier.
You’re not stuck waiting for buses or taxis, planning your day around timetables—you can just jump in the car and go. Some of the best places are only a short drive away too.
Here are a few of the best day trips you can do from Ciudad Quesada.
🏖️ Guardamar del Segura (around 10 minutes)
This is probably the easiest one to start with. Guardamar is just down the road and has some of the nicest beaches in the area.
You’ve got:
- Long, sandy beaches
- Pine forests right by the coast
- A much more relaxed feel compared to busier towns
It’s perfect if you just want a chilled beach day without travelling far.
In summer it can get busy, so it’s worth heading over a bit earlier if you can.
🌊 Torrevieja (15 minutes)
Torrevieja is a bit more lively and there’s a lot more going on.
You’ll find:
- A long promenade for walking
- Plenty of restaurants and bars
- Shops and markets
The salt lakes nearby
It’s a good mix of everything really. Nice during the day, but also worth going in the evening when everything feels a bit more alive.
🏝️ Tabarca Island (via Santa Pola)
This one takes a bit more planning, but it’s definitely worth it
You drive to Santa Pola (about 30 minutes), then get a boat over to Tabarca Island. It’s a small island, no cars, really clear water—completely different to the mainland.
People usually go for:
- Snorkelling
- Seafood lunches
- A slower, quieter atmosphere
Just keep in mind it gets busy in peak season, so booking ahead is a good idea.
🏔️ Guadalest (about 1 hour 30 minutes)
If you fancy something different from the coast, Guadalest is a great shout.
It’s a small village up in the mountains with some incredible views. The drive up there is actually part of the experience—lots of winding roads and scenery.
Once you’re there, you’ve got:
- A historic castle
- Views over a bright blue reservoir
- Small shops and cafés
It’s more of a full-day trip, but definitely one of the most memorable ones.
🛍️ La Zenia Boulevard (15 minutes)
Not every day has to be about sightseeing. If you just want something easy, La Zenia Boulevard is a good option.
It’s a big shopping centre with:
- Well-known brands
- Loads of places to eat
- A decent atmosphere, especially in the evening
Good for a more relaxed day or if the weather isn’t great.
🌅 Elche (around 30 minutes)
Elche doesn’t always get mentioned, but it’s actually really nice if you want something a bit more cultural.
The palm grove there is huge (and pretty impressive), and the town itself has a more traditional Spanish feel.
It’s not as touristy as the coast, which makes it a nice change.
🌄 Villajoyosa (about 1 hour)
Villajoyosa is one of those places that looks great in photos—and it actually lives up to it.
The colourful houses along the seafront are the main thing people go for, but it’s also just a nice place to walk around and have something to eat.
A bit quieter than places like Benidorm, which is part of the appeal.
🚗 Why having a car really helps
You can get to some of these places without a car, but it’s not always straightforward.
With a car, you can:
- Go where you want, when you want
- Visit more than one place in a day
- Avoid waiting around in the heat
- Find spots that aren’t on the usual tourist routes
It just makes the whole trip feel easier.
